Where We Meet
Our monthly meeting is held at St Paul's, Compstall, in the
Church Hall, pictured here.
There is limited car-parking within the grounds of the Church
(see pictures below),
and additional Pay and Display parking is available at Etherow Country
Park. There may also be additional parking at the Atheneum. The Hall is equipped with a loop system so that members with hearing difficulties can listen to the speakers. Tea, coffee and biscuits are served before the formal meeting begins, giving members an opportunity to chat to friends and to enrol for the various activities. Members are charged an admission fee to cover the cost of refreshments etc. Directions
![]() St Paul’s Church is set back from the B6104 as the road climbs out of Compstall towards Romiley. Coming from Mellor, Glossop or Marple Bridge, the Church is on the right, and is clearly visible, with its square tower standing high above the graveyard (picture right). On rounding the corner, proceed up the hill a few yards and then turn right into the church grounds (see picture below, left).
On entering the grounds of the Church, the car park is
immediately on the left (see pictures above). The Church
Hall, where the U3A
meetings are held, is a little way up the drive on the right.
The map shows the location
of the Church buildings and the Church car park as well as the car
parks nearby in Etherow Country Park and behind the Atheneum.
An Area Map, showing the location of
Compstall and Marple Bridge is attached HERE.
